The Chernivtsi oblast archive's digital collection covers much of the region's 20th century history, under Polish, Soviet, and independent Ukrainian rule. On the left hand toolbar click "Електронний архів" (digital archive) and then choose "дорадянські фонді" (pre-Soviet collections) for 1918-1944 archive documents and "радянські фонді" (Soviet collections) for 1940-1991 photo materials. The former category holds city government documents from two communes in Chernivtsi oblast, including financial, military, administrative, legal, and statistical documents. The post-war collection includes several rich photo collections from city agricultural exhibitions, World War II, a major 1991 flood, and the early years of Ukrainian independence in the 1990s.
