The Chernihiv oblast archive has digitized collections from the pre-Soviet and Soviet periods and from the region's communist party archives. To access digitized files, click "Оцифровані описи та справи онлайн" (digitized descriptions and files online) on the front page lefthand tool bar. Then click "ОПИСИ" for descriptions of collections and on "СПРАВИ (оцифровані ДАЧО)" to select from pre-Soviet, Soviet, and party collections. Files are uploaded here in page-by-page JPEGs and thus are difficult to navigate, so matching the descriptions' file numbers to the uploaded files should help. Users might also consult the website's documentary exhibitions, accessible from the home page, which display archival documents and photos on different themes such as artists and writers from Chernihiv, the histories of local churches, Holodomor and World War II in the region, and more.
