Based in Lviv, the Center for Urban History houses digital projects pertaining to the urban history of Ukraine, especially Lviv. Since the beginning of the 2022 Russo-Ukrainian War, the Center has embarked on an intensive project to digitize more materials. Open access online sources are found on the "Digital" section of the Center's website. Most interesting is the "Urban Media Archive," a collection of thousands of images, videos and films, maps, and oral histories that have otherwise been neglected by state archives. Collections pertain both to Lviv and to other regions of Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Other digital projects include "Interactive Lviv," a digital encyclopedia of the city accompanied by thousands of archival materials, photographs, and interviews, and "Streets of Lviv" with thorough information on the city's historic place names and buildings. Users should note that access to some website material, including the rich collection of oral histories on 20th century Lviv in the "Urban Media Archive," require you to create a free website login.
