The digital archives of the Literature and Art Archive-Museum of Ukraine house three large personal collections of notable Ukrainian figures of the 19th and 20th centuries: the Beretti architects, who designed and built many notable buildings in 19th century St. Petersburg and Kyiv; the Orientalist, linguist, and founder of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences Ahatanhel Krymsky; and turn-of-the-century historian, archivist, and paleographer Ivan Kamanin. All together, these collections shed light on the Ukrainian role in the Russian empire and in art and academia in the 19th through early 20th centuries.
