While this site holds a large number of rich archival sources, the digitized collection is somewhat difficult to navigate. For the committed researcher, however, the time taken to identify useful sources is worthwhile. Uploaded digitized files correspond to their opisy (descriptions), uploaded in a separate file. To navigate these collections, the researcher should locate the corresponding opis' in this data folder. In the Soviet case, these are fondy 0196 and 6023. Fond 0196 contains the records of the Vinnytsia district administrative department in the 1920s, while fond 6023 holds filtration, investigative and supervisory cases transferred to the SBU in Vinnytsia region, particularly for the 1920s and 1930s. Fondy are more numerous for the pre-Soviet period and cover a wide array of topics — again, check the uploaded opisy to navigate the numerous digital files. The same can be said for the communist party archive folders, which cover most of the Soviet period.
